Since your realtor probably knows the area as well as anyone, be open to suggestions and to looking at places you may not have considered.   Be sure that your likes and dislikes are known before you start searching with a realtor.  This will eliminate spending time on places you wouldn’t consider. 

Sometimes it takes a little longer to find the perfect new home, farm, or commercial property.  Be patient and have faith in your realtor.  Make sure that you are reachable by phone or email and by all means, don’t give up.  There is a house for every buyer and a buyer for every house.
